Data model
NOTES, SOURCES, AND CONNECTIONS NEED IDENTITIES OF THEIR OWN.
The Glyphic data model is intended to preserve the relationships that make a knowledge workspace portable and interpretable.
Conceptual entities
SEPARATE THE SOURCE, THE EXCERPT, AND THE INTERPRETATION.
A passage from the web is not the same thing as a person's note about it. Modeling those pieces separately keeps attribution and later edits understandable.
- Sources and source locations
- Authored notes and annotations
- Typed or described connections
Status
TREAT THIS AS A DIRECTION UNTIL THE SCHEMA IS VERSIONED.
The public model can evolve while Glyphic is early. Builders should inspect the current code before depending on a particular shape.
KEEP YOUR SOURCES CLOSE AND YOUR IDEAS MOVING.
Glyphic is being built in the open. Begin with the current product, follow the work, and help make the system more useful.
